Japan Earthquake

It occurred today and its a whopping 8.9 magnitude quake and it resulted in Tsunamis too.
News here.
I certainly hope Japan is alright after this.
Earthquakes are not uncommon in Japan and they do have measures against it so we rarely see news about their quakes.
For us to get news of it must mean the quake is pretty devastating this time...
The news didn't mention anything about buildings collapsing so that's good....
IF THOSE TOWERS IN TOKYO WERE TO COLLAPSE...OMG....
Luckily its not gonna end up like SiChuan. The world have no need for another SiChuan tragedy.

EDIT: Death toll near 100 337 not including 200-300 bodies found on beach in Sendai, Japan.
And my heart nearly broke into pieces when I saw this on CNA:  A passenger train with an unknown number of people aboard was unaccounted for in a tsunami-hit part of coastal Japan.
Hope it's found....

Condolences to their family and the whole of Japan.
Public transport in Japan totally down and a lot people stranded in Tokyo.
Its now night time there =(
Luckily Tsunamis hit Philippines, Taiwan and Indonesia without damage.
I hope Yvonne is okay and is able to come back to SG tomorrow as scheduled...
Airports closed and the only partially running airport is Narita airport...

I don't know what to say to Adachi Sensei when Kayoobi comes... Not sure if Osaka is hit but I certainly hope her family and friends are safe too.

Japanese buildings are built in such a way that it would sway and not stay rooted to the ground during quakes.
Something about isolating the building and foundation...
So when it sways it would not collapse or anything.
Technically speaking the building in video is doing what it's supposed to do but imagine being in that building when it happened...*Shivers*
Kudos to Japan's architecture and engineering.
Thanks to the building's swaying feature the death toll is relatively small for a disaster this big.

Saitama Super Arena is being offered as evacuation centre. Which means Nana's Lives in Saitama Super Arena would never be the same again...
